Used with panic exit devices
The tailpiece is a thin length of metal that protrudes from the back of the lock further into the door.
The stem is rotated by turning the correct key in the cylinder. 
Rotation of the stem unlocks the panic exit device.
Supplied with a pair of keys (keyed alike/different)
